[In the months since being forcibly changed into a wendigo, Kimbley has gotten used to the cold. It's comforting, in an odd way. Maybe that's because he's a creature of the cold. It makes sense, doesn't it? It's funny in some twisted, bitter way that a man who was always cold in prison is now a creature that exists only in the frigid cold.

But that's not bothering him right now, not really. It makes him angry, but Kimbley's content to shove it away and not focus on it.

What is bothering him, is how hot it's getting. And how his fur has decided that now is a good time to start shedding everywhere in an effort to stay cool. The antlers are probably in danger of falling out soon, too, but right now he's miserable because of how just touching his mane causes fur to fall out.]

Dammit! What the hell is this?!

[So he's going to angrily shout at nothing because that makes him feel a little better.]

[He doesn't sound like he believes Archer, though he's smirking a little when he brings Archer's hand up to touch at a spot on his shoulder.

Just get it out of your system now, alright?]

He'll just sort of awkwardly pet the fur there.]

[This is a little awkward, but he looks pleased.]

[Good, because he's not going to stop any time soon! This is kind of nice. Weird, but nice.]

Feels kind of nice.

[Probably because Archer is the one petting him, but he doesn't want to think too hard about that right now.]

[He makes a soft noise of agreement, though doesn't verbally respond otherwise. It does feel nice, as odd as that sounds.]

[Should it actually feel this nice? He really doesn't know. It's not like he actually likes his mane, but Kimbley also isn't going to mutilate himself because that would be stupid.

His ears have drooped in what is visibly more relaxed than normal for Kimbley.]

[Huh, that's odd. He doesn't remember Kimbley's ears ever doing that, so he pauses for a moment.]

Are you alright?

[He didn't think anything was wrong here...]

[At that, his ears perk back up immediately.]

Huh? Nothing's wrong.

[sadisticwarfare]

...You're sure?

[He doesn't want to draw attention to the ears, so he has to settle for that.]

[viliorate]

I just told you I like what you're doing. Nothing's wrong.

...Alright.

[He'll continue petting then, alright. This is still pretty awkward.]

[It is a little awkward...

Kimbley's ears droop back down after a while.]

I should have cracked a joke about this sooner.

Don't even start.

[Despite the warning tone Archer's not angry. He's keeping a closer eye on Kimbley's ears this time, though it doesn't seem like this is a bad thing. Hmm. Maybe Kimbley's ears do that when he's happy?]

[Usually when he's happy, his ears perk up quite a bit. There are a few hints as to what his ears drooping could mean, though, since it can mean something's bothering him.

The fact that Kimbley isn't tense at all does help indicate that he's not worried about anything in particular.

Not that he worries much in the first place.]

You could try touching one of the spikes. They don't hurt or anything, unless I hit one of the ones on my elbow.

...You'd be fine with that?

[He's never stopped to think about what the spikes feel like. It's not something he could ever imagine happening, so most of the time his mind simply glosses over them.]

[Kimbley shrugs.]

If I wasn't, I wouldn't make the offer.

[sadisticwarfare]

[He hesitates for a moment before reaching out to touch one of Kimbley's spikes hesitantly.]

[viliorate]

[The spikes feel hard, but not sharp. They hurt like hell actually growing in, but now they don't actually feel like anything. It's fine, really.

It's just a little weird. Thankfully Kimbley can't actually feel anything.]

[Huh. He wasn't expecting them to be sharp, but it's still odd actually touching them. Eventually he pulls back, satisfied for the time being.]

[...hey, why did you have to stop petting him? That felt really nice.]

That was less weird than I thought it would be.

Well I'm glad it wasn't that weird.

[So of course he's going to default to sarcasm.]

[...Archer....

Kimbley just laughs, shaking his head.]

You make it sound like you're offended.

[sadisticwarfare]

I'm not, but how did you expect me to respond to that?

[He can't help it, okay. He just gets defensive when he's embarrassed!]

You could lighten up a little.

Unless you want to pet my ears and tail next, too.
