[Breaking out of the laboratory could really have gone better. He hadn't run into the other Homunculi, thankfully, but it had certainly been a near miss with the military. Not that Greed had to worry, but the chimera certainly did.
He wasn't certain about the prisoner he'd brought with them, though. Greed knew what the place was being used for and for the man to break out meant that he was resourceful as hell and was someone he definitely wanted on his side.
Still, he was cautious and didn't do much more than keep an eye on the man, wondering about the title one of the soldiers had used.
It's not until hours later and after the group has found a safe house that he finally approaches the man. He's more than aware than aware that the chimera are ignoring him entirely and that makes Greed more curious than threatened, really.]
Prison uniforms stand out a bit. Anything in particularly you want instead?

Breaking out of prison wasn't something Kimblee had really planned on needing to do at any point; he'd been assured that he'd be spared due to his general level of cooperation during the court-martial. He knew better than to hope for release, of course, given that that involved leverage that he didn't exactly have and he doubted anyone was going to provide it, not for someone who had done what he had; however, reneging on the arrangement that had been made initially was really rude, and since dying was not on Kimblee's personal itinerary for the day he had decided to skip out on the procedure that would place it there, thank you very much.
Granted, he was fairly sure he'd ruined several other people's day simply by doing so, but that's the risk people ran in making hypocrites of themselves. As for the other prisoners...well, they were no worse off than they were before Kimblee had changed the situation. They were going to die anyway, he'd just expedited the process a little.
...Needless to say, the laboratory was sort of a mess. Oops.
Anyway.
What he hadn't counted on had been the sudden presence of others - not the soldiers attempting to apprehend him, of course, since that had been a given, but rather the chimeras and the individual with them. Not a chimera himself, he suspected, but...well, whatever he was, it had to be better than being recaptured or shot or other such things that Kimblee simply wasn't there for.
So now here they are, and here he is, and the chimeras are content to ignore him and Kimblee quite frankly doesn't give a damn as long as he's got the stupid restraints off and can work on getting his shoulders to remember what it feels like to have a full range of motion again.]
I'll admit I'm used to something more formal, even if military uniforms are out of the question now - not that white doesn't tend to stand out on its own, but at least it's a bit more acceptable among most.

He watches the man carefully, trying to get a read on him and finding that, frustratingly, he really can't. He's good with people. Usually people have something they want, and Greed is very good at picking up on it because that had been his job for a very long time. Learning what people wanted and how to manipulate that had become second nature.
Of course, he doesn't have the need to manipulate anymore, being free of Dante, and he's honestly not sure what to make of the man he's "rescued" for a lack of a better word to begin with.]
A white suit? That's certainly doable. I'll see what I can do about it.
[And he's quiet for a time, still not quite sure what to do with the fact that he honestly is at a loss for how to deal with someone for the first time in a long time, not including the time he'd spent imprisoned, of course.]
It's a little rude of me for not having introduced myself sooner-- the name's Greed.

Solf J Kimblee - surname is fine. It's a pleasure.

I hope this isn't too intrusive, but that title those guards said-- Crimson Lotus, was it?-- means you're military, right?
[At the very least, he doesn't think it should come across as too intrusive given the former military chimera avoiding Kimblee.
Whatever happened to get him locked away happened, and Greed doesn't care too much about that, really. But still, former military is a good thing because it means he's more current about the state of affairs even if he had been locked away for several years.
He's a good person on his side even if he can't be sure what makes him tick.]

Given the fact that you're willing to do me so many favors already, I don't think I'm in any position to complain about intrusiveness.
[...That's likely the closest to a "thank you" as you're getting for now, Greed. Maybe you'll get more later.]
I don't find it intrusive, however - as little as the association thrills our esteemed military, I was a State Alchemist for some time, yes.
no subject
Well, maybe he did. It isn't worth exploring at the moment, though.]
Combat work, I take it?
[Might explain the adverse reaction the chimera gave him, then.]
This country never has been shy about its wars.

Another thing I can't complain about, as it's what I'm here to do. Soldiers become such because they're willing to kill, after all; it's a job like any other, the requirements are just a bit more morbid than most.
[The chimeras are avoiding him for a reason, Greed.]
I find that I enjoy what I do.

It's not like he wants anything to happen to the chimera, but this conversation has been quite pleasant from his perspective. No need to get into more than they have to.]
I think we'll get along just fine.
[He moves to touch at his jaw with his left hand in a thoughtful manner, showing off the oroborus mark. The man's an alchemist. If the chimera are aware that he's not human-- and with a name like Greed it's hard not to pick up on that fact, then he's pretty sure that an alchemist could have at least theoretical knowledge of what he is.]

[Oh, he'd noticed the name being a bit off - at the same time, we're dealing with a guy named Solf here, and really, if Greed happened to have mean parents then it's of very little consequence to him.
However, he's more than aware that there's something definitely off about his new...ah, friend here; that much has been plain from the start. He has his suspicions; they're not anything he's voicing for the time being.]
That mark of yours is interesting, you know.
[His right hand traces idly over the back of his left where it's folded in his lap, the gesture almost an unconscious one.]
Does it mean much, or is it just a design you're partial to?
no subject
Just the same, slitted pupils are something of a dead giveaway and he's actually enjoying this conversation. Can't let the cat out of the bag that quickly.]
It's a bit of both, really. You could say it's a design I like; it's quite striking, isn't it? But it's also a bit of a calling card. It's key to my identity and I rather like having it out in the opening.
